Nikidom Roller Bag: Coolest School Bag Ever

Exactly two weeks ago, a sample school bag arrived at my house for me to test run and it's the prestigious Nikidom Roller! Baby and I were so excited to open the package.

What is Nikidom Roller?

Nikidom Roller, a brand from Spain, is a revolutionary stroller bag best known for its almost 7-inch-sized giant wheels and is the sleekest looking bag in the market for children aged 7-12 years old. It is designed by a mom tired of seeing her children carrying heavy backpacks, stroller bags that breaks easily long before the school year is over, and bags that are cumbersome for children to carry around.

Below are some photos I took of the product showing the different angles.

This is the Mandala design.

The bag comes with these accessories: 3 collectible pins, 2 wheel stickers, matching pencil bag and care instructions.

What's unique with Nikidom Roller?

1. Big wheels - allows one to pull up and down the stairs and sidewalks with ease; glides quietly; provides greater stability as they keep the bag from tilting side to side when being dragged. Plus, you can customize it by attaching wheel stickers that can provide an interesting optical effect when the wheels are in motion.

The wheel stickers and collectible pins are already attached here.

2. Adjustable handle - made from light aluminum telescopic tube with 3 adjustable height positions to better adapt to the growing child

3. Ergonomic handle - is shaped like a bicycle handle to give children the option to push the bag in front of them just like how we push the shopping carts or tow them the traditional way; a doctor-approved position to avoid shoulder and wrist injuries.

4.  Main compartment has one mesh pocket and a built-in insulated pocket inside to keep drinks or snacks cool; tall enough to contain long envelopes; has two zippers which can be secured by a padlock.

5. Front compartment has two small mesh pockets to contain small items.

6. Bottom front protector - to protect the fabric part of the bag from scratches and allow one to customize the bag with decorative PINs that can be fitted into the holes, and which you can then collect and exchange with friends.

7. Made of the highest quality materials and has passed the same durability tests as the leading brand in suitcases; has a semi-rigid body to protect the contents.

8. Their taglines "Roll it, don't carry it" and "Don't break your back" assure parents that children won't be tempted to carry their bags on their back as there are no other strap except for the ergonomic push/pull handle.

My toddler enjoyed pulling the Nikidom Roller!

My review of the product

At a first look, I fell in love with its sporty, minimalist and neat design, aside from its unique giant wheels. It can immediately give you a status symbol by just sporting this bag around. I've personally tried to pull the Roller up and down the stairs and it is indeed smooth and no banging was heard. Because the bag is still too big for my Baby A, I just thought of asking my school-aged niece to road test it for me. We started by transferring all the books from her current stroller bag to the Nikidom Roller.

The left side is her current stroller. I placed it side by side to see the comparison.

I wanted to prove if Nikidom Roller's huge weight capacity (19 liters or 5 gallons) is really true. However, we haven't transferred everything yet, the Roller fell face down already. I didn't know my niece brings home this much books and notebooks everyday that it couldn't fit everything to the Roller. Too bad, my niece wasn't able to bring the bag to school because of its smaller storage or width/base capacity. Also, we realized that it might be disadvantageous every time one needs to get something from the bag in a crowded room especially when you open the zipper in its full capacity.

Here is what it looks like. The Roller about to fall down.

But at the back of my mind, I thought that this might be a good hand-carry travel luggage as I'm sure it can fit the aircraft cabins with its sleek design; or maybe used as a workshop bag when a speaker or organizer needs to bring some materials along; or for students who bring only a few but heavy books and walk a lot.

So if you want a bag that is built to last, then go for Nikidom Roller. This can give you the assurance that your child won't break their back.

Nikidom Roller bags come in two sizes, Large and Extra Large and has different designs and additional accessories to match the bag. The sample bag I got is the Large size in Mandala design.
